SummerSkyz Marry Me Special — $999 for two (Lansing, ~20 miles south)

Family-run, operating Robinson R44 Raven IIs, departing from Lansing Municipal Airport (3259 Glenwood Lansing Rd.). The Marry Me Special includes large “MARRY ME” marquee letters, a red carpet, a glass of champagne, chocolate, 15 minutes of photo time, and the standard 35-minute / 50-mile Chicago skyline tour. The longer flight and lower price are genuine advantages. The trade-off is a 20–30 minute drive south of downtown.

Heli Chicago — Schaumburg Regional Airport (~30 miles northwest)

Chicago’s longest-standing helicopter company, FAA Part 135 certified, operating a turbine Hughes 500 and a twin-turbine Airbus AS355. Signature product: a private 45-minute skyline tour for up to 3 passengers, from around $650 for the group. Heli Chicago has been “part of many proposals, wedding entrances, and corporate events,” but does not offer a branded proposal package with marquee signage or champagne — proposals are handled as part of a private charter. Practical notes: 265 lb weight limit per person; 20-minute check-in required; strict rule that the person who booked must present the matching credit card and photo ID at check-in (critical to resolve in advance for surprise proposals); $100 rescheduling fee if you arrive more than 15 minutes late.

Departing from Midway Airport, Rotorzen offers private tours at $199 for two (30 minutes) or $279 for three. Plain couples flights (no signage)

If you want the aerial moment and will handle your own ring reveal, a standard private couples flight costs far less: Fly Heli runs about $110/seat (Skyline Snap, 10 miles), $180/seat (Loop Tour, 16 miles), and $300/seat (City to Shoreline, 30 miles). Rotorzen also offers private tours for two at around $199 for two (30 minutes) from Midway Airport.

Anniversary, date night & Valentine’s packages

Beyond proposals, Chicago helicopter operators cater to a wide range of romantic occasions:
